The S.E.L.F. Project provides opportunities for youth to be empowered through sports and local and global service.
As Bloom’s taxonomy states, one of the best ways to learn something is to teach it to someone else. The S.E.L.F. Projects basic foundation is built from this idea. Students are given the opportunity to teach others the sports they play. Not only does the “student-teacher” really learn their material (sport) they gain so many other valuable skills such as written and oral communication, organizational skills, time management, leadership as well as enhanced and increased self-esteem, self-confidence, self-determination, self-reliance and self-discipline.
