The S.E.L.F. Project traveled to Zambia in 2011 and 2012. Our service included building a basketball court in 2011. In 2012, we built a hut for orphans and five volleyball courts in three villages. We taught sports and donated and distributed sports equipment, uniforms and shoes both years. We camped in tents and bathed in outdoor showers. Being there in winter, the sun set very early in the evenings. Surprisingly, we listened to animals including chickens and rosters crowing, dogs barking and cows mooing throughout the night.
