Nicaragua

The S.E.L.F. Project traveled to Managua, Nicaragua in early 2012 and conducted a basketball clinic at Batahola, a women’s empowerment center. Children and P.E. teachers participated in the basketball clinic and learned many new skills. At the onset of the clinic, a few watched from a distance. By the end of the clinic, the neighborhood court was filled with cheering spectators. S.E.L.F. donated basketballs, ball pumps, basketball nets and first-aid kits. Two basketballs were awarded to the two hardest working girls at the clinic to recognize their effort and to provide a means for them to continue to develop their basketball skills.
